November 8th, 2018
Wednesday, November 7, in San Francisco, During the company's developer conference, Samsung showed a preview of its new folding-screen phone. Already announced for some time, "Infinity Flex Display" is a hybrid between smartphone and tablet, with a folding that allows the device to go from the maximum size, with an open screen, of 7.3 inches with a resolution of 2152x1536, to the minimum, when closed, of 4.58 inches with resolution 1960x840. From the Moscone Center stage Justin Denison, one of the vice presidents of Samsung in the United States, explains, without going too far into the technical characteristics, that the new product will use the Android system and will be able to run up to three apps simultaneously, thanks to a multi window active. Denison declares that the company will be able to start mass production of Infinity Flex Display in a few months, but does not specify exactly when or provide news on the price of the smartphone that, according to rumors should cost over 1000 euros.

Folding screens seem to be the next frontier between smartphone manufacturers, who are competing to present their projects. Samsung, in fact, was beaten by the "foldable" Flexplai, launched in China by the Californian Royole Corporation one day before its "Infinity Flex Display", but also Xiaomi, LG and Lenovo are exploring the possibility of creating similar products. What will be the best only time will tell us.
