If Wes Anderson decided to open a hotel/restaurant, this would probably be The Feast India Company.
Better known as The Pink Zebra due to its particular aesthetic characteristics, this building, which is located in the Swaroop district of Kanpur, is a little gem for the eyes.
The 370-square-meter building, divided into 2 floors, was designed by Renesa's architectural studio and is inspired by the plastic and eccentric scenography, the images, symmetries and color palettes of the American director, mixed with a touch of Indian tradition.
Walls, furnishings and accessories are painted in pink, broken only by black and white stripes, a motif usually associated with British Raj.
The aesthetic choice recalls the surreal image of a zebra immersed in a pink sea.
“The core idea was to create a hybrid rather than pure, compromising rather than clean and leave the visitor hanging in the middle of an artistic sea" - explains the design team and adds - "The Pink Zebra with its unique façade design creates an everlasting effect on the passersby and invites them into a magical, expertly crafted world whose spaces are framed to treat the eyes."
So, if you love Wes Anderson, the hotel/restaurant designed by Renesa Studio is the perfect place for you and your Instagram profile.
