Should we delete our Facebook accounts?
The #DeleteFacebook movement thinks it's the only way to protect our data
March 22nd, 2018
Boycott. No, better, delete Facebook.
In recent days, the hashtag #DeleteFacebook has been around the Internet, a collective response born after the Cambridge Analytical scandal.
The call to revolt is encouraged by many, including the Financil Times, The Guardian and Brian Acton, the co-founder of WhatsApp, the popular messaging application purchased by Zuckerberg in 2014 for $ 19 billion.
The most popular social media has been accused for not protecting the information of its users and allowing a third party to access it through a personality quiz.
As a consequence FB has lost 50 billion dollars on the stock exchange and is at the center of criticism and investigation, but why deleting the profiles would be the only solution to protect our privacy?
Because disabling the access of external applications, it would not be enough to protect us from manipulation.
In addition, if you stay on WhatsApp and Instagram, you continue to to provide data to the Zuckerberg company.
What do you think about this situation? A mass cancellation from Facebook is your choice to protect democratic freedoms and civil rights?
