"If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that things aren’t going very well for the planet. It’s pretty easy to get depressed about it. I’ve always known that the cure for depression is the action".
Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, the brand has always paid attention to what is happening in society and in the world, says it clearly: if you want to improve things, we must roll up our sleeves and take action.
Over the 40 years of history, the company, in fact, has raised nearly $ 90 million dollars in support of grassroots environmental organizations, reaching countless communities and helping numerous non-profit organizations. With this guiding philosophy, Patagonia has created "Action Works", a digital platform that will contact one another, environmental non-profit agencies with interested people to attend events, petitions, and volunteering.
"If we could connect our community, friends and customers directly with local groups working on issues they are passionate about, suddenly these organizations would have the capacity to achieve even more" - explains Lisa Pike Sheehy, vice president of Patagonia, adding - "Everybody has a role to play in this movement".
To launch "Action Works", the brand will take part in a national tour that will cover cities such as Santa Monica, New York and Chicago.
