November 10th, 2017
The news is official: 'Star Wars' saga will have a fourth trilogy.
The announcement comes from Disney’s ad Robert Iger during the publication of quarterly data.
The peculiarity of these new movies will be, as announced by Inger, that will bring the audience in “a corner of the galaxy that 'Star Wars' has never explored” thanks to the introduction of unseen characters.
Behind the camera there will be Rian Johnson, director of the Eighth episode “The Last Jedi” in theaters in December.
"We all loved working with Rian on 'The Last Jedi'." - said, Lucasfilm’s president Kathleen Kennedy - "He’s a creative force, and watching him craft 'The Last Jedi' from start to finish was one of the great joys of my career. Rian will do amazing things with the blank canvas of this new trilogy."
Walt Disney Pictures also announces a live-action television series on Star War that should land in 2019 directly on the company's new digital platform.
