Save the date: April 7, 2017. The Get Down is coming and Netflix announces it by spreading a series of images, the poster, and, above all, the trailer. In the few minutes of the video, we can see a first season's recap and a few fragments of the second one.
The history of the series resumes a year after the events of the first part. We are in 1978, New York is on the verge of bankruptcy, inhabited by gangsters mercilessly and boss of record companies thirsty for money. In this climate of unrest and uncertainty disco music still reigns supreme, but is also born a musical phenomenon as yet unnamed, that upsets everyone with a completely different sound.
In the new episodes our protagonists, the young lovers Books and Mylene, are in the midst of this cultural revolution, willing to sacrifice everything for the music and for their love.
