Close your eyes and try to image a visionary, magic world, where color-changing jellyfishes fluctuate in the sky, pop colors and neon lights enlighten dark hues scenarios. A surreal world where two women get together and come in contact with their deepest and most primitive Ego to seek the answers to their existential questions, starting mystical rituals that will bring them into a multi-sensorial experience. This is "Jellywolf", the new short-film directed by Alma Har'el for the online channel The Fifth Sense, in collaboration with Chanel. The two stars of the video are Kiersey Clemons and Lisa Bonet, the first one in the role of the girl who's seeking answers, while the second one is the guide who will bring her into the spiritual trip.
"I was inspired by Synesthesia, a condition that gets your senses to cross paths, and my need to portray women in a new light. This is a trippy love letter to women who need to heal so they can find their voices", Har'el explained, saying she wanted to pay a tribute to the women's strength and the mutual support who connects them, inspired by the political and social debate of this period. About the collaboration with Chanel, the filmmaker said: "I also wanted to explore this gray area between content and commercials. I always want to bend any genre and question any definitions I can. I think that brands like Chanel who trust artists the way they trusted me with this film are leading the way".
