Nike LeBron 13 "I Promise": the pride of a Whole State
New Chosen One signature made with 30 kids from Lebron James Family Foundation
November 8th, 2016
There are two words that, since LeBron James’ return to Cleveland in July of 2014, he has repeated in every single post on social media like a mantra. “I promise”, not only to bring a championship back to northeast Ohio, but also to help a community which has struggled trough many adversities to build a brighter future in the Buckeye State.
And when King James revealed his brand new LeBron 13 on September, 2015, he asked 30 kids from his foundation to join him and Nike for a design workshop. They were asked to represent what the phrases “I Promise” and “Strive for Greatness” mean to them.
Now, a year later, Nike and The LeBron James Family Foundations have revealed the brand new LeBron 13 Low “I Promise”. Those shoes are the result of a combinations of all Cleveland’s kids’ work and represents all their dreams and hopes. They feature an “I Promise” baller band and Ohio’s area code expressed on the shoe’s Zoom Air bag. And, of course, the number 23 and the LeBron James Family Foundation logo.
But this sneaker’s story is far from over. Because King James was able to keep his promise, bringing the championship back to Cleveland after more than 50 years. We bet the next pair of Nike Lebron will be colorful, just like Ohio’s streets during the championship parade. They will only have a main difference, because they will express two new words. Promise Kept.
