5 things to do in Milan this weekend
From April 4th until the 6th
April 4th, 2025
After a year of waiting, this Monday marks the return of what is perhaps the most important week on Milan’s calendar: Design Week – between the 63rd edition of Salone del Mobile and a Fuorisalone entirely dedicated to AI. There will definitely be a lot of walking in the coming days, but why not get started already? Especially since, throughout the weekend, temperatures will reach 21°C, with a bright sun high in the sky. If you still don’t know what to do or are curious to find out the places-to-be, every week nss is back with its guide to the 5 things to do in Milan this weekend.
To eat – Surfer’s Garden
A little slice of California in the Bocconi area, this is Surfer’s Garden. Located within the Cappelli sports club, the café is surrounded by a charming rose garden, perfect in the spring season. This Sunday, to celebrate the return of the sun, the beloved brunch in the garden will also be back.
Piazza Caduti del Lavoro, 5
To chill – Vinello a Milano
Among all the natural wine bars in Milan, the most democratic one is surely Vinello a Milano, as the name suggests. Far from the usual wine bar concept, the tiny wine shop in Gambara offers an impressive selection of natural and organic wines. Perfect for aperitivo, where your glass is paired with a wide range of cold cuts and tasty snacks.
Piazzale Veronica Gambara, 4
To discover – Nico Vascellari @ Palazzo Reale
Straddling art week and design week, this week, Palazzo Reale opened the exhibition of Italian artist Nico Vascellari, Pastorale. The show also occupies the Sala delle Cariatidi, with new and unreleased works blending sound, sculpture, installation, and performance. Inspired by the memory of the venue and the historic 1953 exhibition of Picasso’s Guernica, the project explores the deep connection between man and nature. Admission is free.
Piazza del Duomo, 12
To shop – Da Orient
What’s better than a vintage shop, a vinyl store, and a bar all in one? That’s exactly what Da Orient is. Formerly known for years as Orient Express, last December, the concept store underwent a rebirth. A place where you can spend hours between fashion, music, and great cocktails. Perfect for a weekend of shopping.
Viale Montello, 8
To party – Made of Italia @ nss edicola
As always, you can count on nss edicola to kick off the city’s key weeks. For Design Week, nss edicola explores what “Italian craftsmanship” truly means today, thanks to the new project, Made of Italia. To launch a rich schedule of Fuorisalone events, this Saturday, April 5, Piazza Bruno Buozzi will once again light up with dancing and a community-focused afternoon, featuring music by Est Radio Soundsystem and WHODAMANNY. RSVP here.
