Sandra Mujinga stuns in the new Kuboraum LTD Edition Mask E21 Crossover

Known primarily for her use of sculpture, video, and sound, Sandra Mujinga's works draw inspiration from science fiction, posthuman theory, and survival tactics, featuring spectral figures that are wrapped, elongated, and elusive, inviting the viewer to challenge the perception of self and others, as well as the boundary between visible and invisible. These themes seamlessly integrate into Kuboraum’s philosophy and multi-faceted aesthetics, transforming the wearer into an unconventional and countercultural being: visibility becomes both risk and resistance, a means to challenge others and to transform one's identity in a surprising way. Her immersive installations, pulsing with deep bass and glowing, sentient textures, have earned her critical acclaim, including the Preis der Nationalgalerie (2021) and exhibitions at the Venice Biennale (2022), Kunsthalle Basel, and the Guggenheim Museum. 

Founded in Berlin in 2011 by Livio Graziottin and Sergio Eusebi, KUBORAUM is an eyewear brand created to challenge the very concept of glasses and mass trends. The brand’s Masks adapt to the wearer’s face, enhancing their personality and character. For the brand, glasses are more than just accessories; they are a symbol of protection, refuge, but also a tool for fun. Each Mask is handcrafted in Italy, perfectly merging with Venetian tradition, while carrying a Berlin influence, symbolizing the brand’s creativity and unconventional aesthetic research. Graziottin and Eusebi's project takes care of every aspect of creation, preserving artisanal excellence and respecting the environment from design to production with an ethical and humanistic purpose. In the KUBORAUM universe, each Mask becomes a “cubic room” in which one can take refuge and explore their identity, a concept that perfectly aligns with the central theme of Sandra Mujinga's artistic practice.
