This Christmas the OTB Group dedicates itself to charity
With the opening of an orphanage, limited edition t-shirts and in-store donations from customers
December 5th, 2024
The OTB Group, an Italian company that owns disruptive fashion brands such as Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni, and Jil Sander, has decided to celebrate Christmas this December with charitable initiatives in collaboration with NOVE Caring Humans, one of the few Italian NGOs still active in Afghanistan. Following their 2022 partnership, which allowed the association and the Group to reopen a public boys’ orphanage in Afghanistan's Kapisa province, this year the two joined forces again to establish the first public girls’ institution in the city. However, OTB’s support for Afghan children does not stop here: Jil Sander launched the sale of a limited-edition t-shirt available in all the brand’s stores across Europe and online, with 50% of the proceeds donated to the new girls’ orphanage. Additionally, starting in December, all customers of OTB brands will be able to make a donation to the non-profit at the end of their purchase in all direct stores of Diesel, Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni, and Brave Kid. All donations will support four of the main causes championed by NOVE Caring Humans in Afghanistan: women, youth, integration, and emergencies.
Thanks to the support of the OTB Group, the NGO NOVE Caring Humans hopes to start implementing a “mobile incubator” in Kabul for the development of women-led micro-enterprises and a residential center for former child soldiers in Dungu, Congo. Additionally, they aim to create an online platform to assist the integration of people who have migrated to Italy, facilitating job searches in their host country. Overseeing OTB’s charitable initiatives is the OTB Foundation, the Group's non-profit organization founded in 2006 to intervene concretely in emergencies while respecting social sustainability and equal opportunities. By supporting activities based on specific principles—namely, direct social impact, sustainability, and innovation—the OTB Foundation has managed to contribute its support to more than 350 humanitarian projects worldwide over more than 20 years. With the launch of the limited-edition “Jil Sander for OTB Foundation” t-shirts and the opening of stores to customer donations, the OTB Group reinforces its collaboration with NOVE Caring Humans. The opening of the girls’ orphanage in Kapisa also provides significant help to Afghan women, as explained by the NGO’s president, Susanna Fioretti: «During our missions in Kapisa province, we encountered desperate women who, kneeling before the boys’ orphanage supported by NOVE and OTB FOUNDATION, begged us to take in their daughters.» OTB Foundation, adds Arianna Alessi, vice-president of the Group’s non-profit, «continues to support this struggling country by trying to provide hope to all the families requesting entry to our orphanage, where women are often the sole providers for their households.»
