The new Tommy Jeans x AAPE BY *A BATHING APE® capsule is the '90s crossover of the summer

Tommy Hilfiger and A BATHING EPA® today announced the imminent release of their first Tommy Jeans x AAPE BY A BATHING APE® collaborative capsule. On the occasion of their first partnership, the two brands brought their DNA together to create a clothing line inspired by the archival looks of the 90s. The 90s references are very important, because it's around that time when Tommy Hilfiger's brand began incorporating a new street style into its collections while simultaneously starting to work in tandem with the hip hop music industry – the moment of the brand's life that culminated when Snoop Dogg wore a Hilfiger hoodie for his performance on SNL with the result of making it sell out the next day. The 1990s were also the birthplace of A BATHING APE®e in which Nigo and Jun Takahashi founded the legendary Nowhere store in Ura-Harajuku, the District of Tokyo then became famous for the style of the young people who frequented it.

The Tommy Jeans x AAPE BY "A BATHING APE® collection blends the most iconic elements of the two brands. Specifically, the color palette typical of Tommy Hilfiger's creations, red, white and blue, with the Moon Face logo and the Camo pattern of A BATHING APE®. The clothing range includes polo shirts, denim jackets, t-shirts, footwear and accessories. Most of the tops are dominated by the logos of the two brands fused together and replicated on patches and maximalist prints that cover the top of the back. The two main items are certainly the denim jacket with hood and sneakers characterized by strong color blocking and thick sole, as well as sports shorts and two-tone denim caps. The denim garments also present an extraordinary amount of details that reinvent the branding of AAPE BY A BATHING APE and Tommy Jeans both as fabric decorations and as structural elements of the garments themselves.

The Tommy Jeans x AAPE BY *A BATHING APE® capsule collection will be available on Tommy Hilfiger's official website, at the Tommy Jeans boutiques of Tokyo and Shangai and in selected retailers starting July 11th.
