Valentino Haute Couture SS18: between sculturism and romance
Harmony and a triumph of colors on the runway
January 25th, 2018
Haute Couture has been always synonymous of romance, femininity, elegance and exactness. A triumph of long dresses to be presented on the red carpet and to be worn strategically to leave everyone speechless.
Maison Valentino, however, introduces a new term to best represent its latest HC SS18 collection: art.
Harmony on the catwalk combined with a triumph of colors: a palette of spring shades, sweets in contrast with the flowers that adorn the clothes. It's a real touch Valentino. The shapes are exaggerated, but thanks to the cuts, the details with which the feminine lines are accentuated, and to the accessories, everything acquires an incredible harmony, almost unexpected: nothing is heavy or annoying. Shimmering and transparencies go hand in hand, while the long bell-shaped princely skirt abandons the narrow corsage, to create an incredible parallelism with the short cape, also voluminous, for a symmetrical and almost sculptural result.
The extra detail? The ribbon at the waist. The most feminine and sensual points of a woman returns to be exalted and Valentino does it by wearing it with a satin accessory, thick, colored and embellished with a maxi bow.
