Sunday Escape - Fu House
A minimalist construction in which spaces between intersections function as a catalyst for nature and human emotions

Japan. Shunan, not far from the Seto Inland Sea.
Here, in a heavily industrialized area, in a part of town in the middle of urban development without any landscape, close to a noisy main road study Kubota architects built "FU House".
It is an L-shaped wholly concrete and glass residence surrounded by solid white walls, that protect against noise and ensure peace and privacy to the long terrace with swimming pool. Still concrete inside encloses the stairs separating the entrance area from the main room. The tiled floor runs throughout the building, giving a solution of continuity between the living area, parking and a terrace around a shallow pool. The water of this one filters through the large sliding glass doors that connect interior and exterior projecting itself on the smooth white walls.
A concrete-lined staircase leads up to a children's room and occupies a large landing. This space also features built-in storage, as well as access to a bathroom and the master bedroom.
FU House is a minimalist construction in which "spaces created between the intersections function as a catalyst for nature and human emotions".
