Jay Z launches streaming music service TIDAL
Kanye, Beyonce Nicki Minaj all turn their profiles turquoise in solidarity
March 30th, 2015
Jay-Z has a lot of friends and and money, we all know that, but apparently it's not enough yet.
A little 'time ago he decided to spend 56 million dollars to acquire Aspiro, Norwegian company that launched Tidal, the lossless streaming service conceptually similar to Spotify but with a monthly subscription (19,95$) and no ads.
I don't understand anything about server, valuations on the stock market, HD stuff so, i'll tell you about all the hype that this whole thing has unleashed around the internet... You know when you ask your friends to put like the last photo on instagram because it doesn't get off the ground? Jay-Z did almost the same thing, the only difference is that his bff are guys like Kanye West, Rihanna, Madonna and Beyonce who supported him in the name of music.
If you open any social and search #TidalForAll, you will be overwhelmed by a ton of users whose profile images have been updated with a turquoise background (an horrible shade of turquoise that you cannot look for more than a certain number of seconds or your eyes will burn) that recalls the one used for the application interface.
Will this new circle of Illuminati be able to defeat the competition and to establish itself as the new leader on the market of music stream? We just have to wait, the launch of Tidal will happens today in the late evening and to increase anxiety they have also started a countdown.
