What does the 2024 edition of the Hyères Festival have in store for us?
A creative whirlwind of fashion, photography and accessories
October 9th, 2024
When the French Riviera becomes the beating heart of fashion and its surrounding art, it means the Hyères International Festival of Fashion, Photography, and Accessories is in full swing. For its 39th edition, held from October 10 to 13, 2024, Villa Noailles once again hosts the rising stars of international creativity. The program, rich and captivating, offers enthusiasts an array of events: spectacular fashion shows, immersive exhibitions, exclusive showrooms, workshops, and talks. This year, the Rencontres Internationales de la Mode, organized by the Fédération de la Haute Couture, place “community” at the heart of discussions. The festival culminates with the presentation of eleven prestigious awards, making it a significant launchpad for young creators.
Every corner of the Villa is alive with inspiration, under the discerning gaze of a distinguished jury. Nicolas Di Felice, Artistic Director of Courrèges, leads the fashion jury, while Coco Capitán, a Spanish artist and photographer, heads the photography jury. Achilles Ion Gabriel, accessory designer and Creative Director at Camper, completes the trio as head of the accessories jury. Their mission? To evaluate talents from around the world. Each category has ten finalists, representing diverse nationalities and creative visions. From bold French-made accessories to original Japanese silhouettes, every finalist dreams of following in the footsteps of past icons like Viktor & Rolf or Julien Dossena.

This year, Hyères also celebrates prestigious anniversaries. Maison Lesage, an essential partner, marks its centenary with an exhibition showcasing its exceptional embroidery and weaving expertise. Another standout addition is the installation “Murmuration,” a participatory piece featuring embroidered gestures contributed by the public throughout the year. The showroom “The Formers” also returns to Villa Romaine, providing a platform for past finalists and honoring talents like Ester Manas and Lucille Thievre. The festival doesn’t stop there: it also highlights local brands such as American Vintage and Seagale while promoting sustainability, including through the Mercedes-Benz Eco-Responsible Collection Prize.
With its mix of glamour and avant-garde spirit, Hyères has become an essential stage for those who dare to dream big. The Festival is more than just a competition: it’s an ode to creativity, where young designers receive the warm support of partners like Chanel, Hermès, and le19M. Balancing tradition and innovation, Hyères continuously reinvents itself, and this 39th edition promises to carve its name even deeper into the history of fashion and contemporary art. Times change, trends come and go, but in Hyères, creativity reigns supreme.
