It’s the news that has been shaking the hip-hop industry lately. Amidst a legal whirlwind, P. Diddy, a living legend of American rap, faces a new blow: accused of multiple sexual assaults, he will soon be the central subject of an explosive documentary on Netflix, directed by none other than his long-time rival, 50 Cent. While rapper Curtis Jackson, 50 Cent's real name, has never minced his words towards his main competitor Sean Combs aka Puff Daddy, he pushes things further today by taking on the role of producer to reveal accusations of sex trafficking, violence, and extortion against P. Diddy. A project developed through his company G-Unit Film & Television, it promises to expose the dark underbelly of the star's life, far from the glitz of music videos and runways. In collaboration with Netflix, the former rapper turned entrepreneur plans to make a big impact.

The announcement of this documentary made waves, especially when 50 Cent confirmed the news on his social media. “I already told you all about this crap. I DON’T do Puffy’s parties. You didn’t believe me, but I bet you do now,” he dropped in a post on X. This rivalry between the two rap giants isn’t new. Since the first accusations of violence against P. Diddy, 50 Cent has been outspoken in denouncing his former collaborator's misconduct. Beyond its media aspect, the Netflix project seeks to directly address the issue of sex trafficking in the entertainment industry. “It’s a story with deep human impact,” 50 Cent explained in an interview with Variety, alongside producer Alexandria Stapleton. This documentary already promises to be a dizzying dive into the murky world of P. Diddy’s life, while reminding viewers that “Sean Combs’ story is not reflective of hip-hop culture.”

Beyond the shocking statements and personal feuds, the Sean Combs case is taking a darker judicial turn. Arrested in Manhattan, P. Diddy pleaded “not guilty” to the accusations against him, including sex trafficking and extortion, yet damning testimonies continue to emerge. These include that of Crystal McKinne, a model who claims she was drugged and sexually assaulted in 2003, as well as Rodney aka “Lil Rod” Jones, a former Diddy employee, who recounts unwanted sexual advances. More recently, Dawn Richard, a former member of Danity Kane, also filed a lawsuit against the rapper, adding another layer to the already colossal set of accusations. As the documentary is being prepared in great secrecy, 50 Cent announced that all proceeds will be donated to support sexual assault victims. This is his way of matching action to words, ensuring that this dark story serves as a lesson to an industry often blind to the abuses of its stars. Netflix and G-Unit are about to unveil what could be one of the most explosive scandals in American pop culture.
