5 things to do in Milan this weekend
From September 27th until 29th
September 27th, 2024
September felt endless: it’s unclear whether it’s the trauma of returning to the city after the holidays, the chaos of Milan Fashion Week, or the seven seasons in 30 days, but we can finally say that it has come to an end. Despite the unpredictable weather this week, a mild temperature of 23° is expected over the weekend, slightly cloudy. With the colder months arriving, any opportunity to spend some time outdoors should be taken, even if you’re still exhausted from post-MFW. So, if you don’t have any plans yet, here’s the weekly guide from nss on the 5 things to do in Milan this weekend.
To Eat - Ai Fiori Blu
Opened just five months ago, Ai Fiori Blu offers a seasonal Italian menu for everyone. With a table setting that vaguely recalls the aunt who still has porcelain from the ‘70s, Ai Fiori Blu is perfect for an intimate dinner to share with your significant other or friends. A wine list featuring a great selection of natural and organic wines is also available to perfectly complement the dishes.
Via Gustavo Modena, 26
To Chill - Bene Bene Bar
The Bene Bene Bar has a very specific but at the same time mysterious identity; a cocktail bar that is also a listening bar with a very distinct look, moving away from the Milanese trends of recent years. With a wide selection of international spirits used for a unique cocktail menu, Bene Bene Bar is more of an experience than just a Saturday night hangout spot. If you want to spend a great night, you know where to go.
Via Giovanni Battista Morgagni, 31
To Discover - IED Square Fest
IED Square was founded twelve years ago as an experimental project by the European Institute of Design in Milan: a week of non-stop multidisciplinary education dedicated to 3rd-year students to guide them towards their thesis project. This year the festival, dedicated to more than 1,500 third-year students, draws inspiration from the desire to collectively reflect on the themes of relationships and sexuality. The starting point for these two days of multidisciplinary education is the documentary Comizi d'amore (1964) by Pier Paolo Pasolini and the interview-essay Conversations on love (2021) by British journalist Natasha Lunn. The talks will take place on September 26 and 27 at the Teatro Moda and are open to the public.
Via Pompeo Leoni, 3
To Shop - Sous Vintage Shop
Hidden along the Naviglio Pavese is one of Milan’s greatest vintage gems, Sous Vintage Shop. With a carefully curated selection, including archival pieces, accessories, and jewelry for everyone, you could spend an entire afternoon at Sous unearthing its most hidden treasures. This weekend, they will also be hosting the first pop-up of the Turkish brand Ladin Ozden Atelier.
Alzaia Naviglio Pavese, 52
To Party - PLUG-MI
This weekend, PLUG-MI returns, the festival dedicated to celebrating urban culture with its “Realness Edition”. The event will be held at the Superstudio Maxi, a 10,000-square-meter expanded space, and will offer a rich program including street dance, basketball, graffiti, skateboarding, and BMX. Among the most anticipated musical performances are those of Italian rap artists like Noyz Narcos, Ernia, and Mondo Marcio. In addition to music, there will also be areas dedicated to art, with street art exhibitions, and creative workshops on sneakers and fashion. Tickets are still available on TicketOne.
Via Moncucco, 35
