Baccarat and Ducasse join forces in an exceptional collaboration
Perhaps the launch of a new era for haute gastronomie in Paris
September 16th, 2024
For several months, excitement has been building around the alliance between Baccarat, the undisputed master of crystal making, and Alain Ducasse, an icon of haute cuisine. The project is finally coming to life, with the imminent opening of the Alain Ducasse Baccarat restaurant in the iconic mansion of the brand, nestled in the heart of the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Completely reinvented, this historic venue has been transformed to welcome an audience seeking refined experiences. The Haussmannian elegance of the place, enhanced by contemporary works inspired by crystal, harmonizes perfectly with the culinary creations of the Michelin-starred chef. On the ground floor, a Baccarat boutique showcases the new collections, where guests can discover the anniversary range for the brand’s 260th year, a symbol of timeless craftsmanship. But it is on the first floor that the heart of this collaboration comes to life: the Alain Ducasse Baccarat restaurant, designed with Christophe Saintagne and executed by Robin Schroeder.
The space stands out for its informal yet refined atmosphere, where every detail has been carefully considered. The menu, like the venue, is an invitation to discovery, with a selection of delicious dishes. Guests can savor bold creations, such as a deconstructed niçoise salad or blue lobster infused with rose, all paired with meticulously selected wines. From accessible bottles to rare vintages, each wine reflects Ducasse’s desire to make luxury more inclusive, while maintaining an unparalleled level of excellence. Through this collaboration with Maggie Henriquez (President of Baccarat), Alain Ducasse aims to turn each dish into an ode to the senses, inviting diners on a journey where culinary art becomes an emotional experience.
To complete this already exceptional adventure, the bar, designed by Arik Levy, offers a selection of creative cocktails crafted by Margot Lecarpentier, the mixologist chosen by Alain Ducasse to bring a modern touch. Futur Deco chandeliers, parchment panels by Jean-Michel Frank, and contemporary sculptures are integrated into a space where luxury is never taken too seriously. Baccarat and Ducasse transcend the usual boundaries of luxury to offer a total immersion in art and gastronomy. Together, they reinvent the codes, blending tradition and modernity, to present a new and avant-garde vision of French art de vivre. With this new establishment, they mark a turning point in the world of luxury gastronomic experiences, while making this excellence more accessible than ever.
