The event always takes place in Cupertino, California, where the company's headquarters are located, and it represents an unmissable moment for all technology enthusiasts. In 2007, in the same rooms where the new iPhone 16 was unveiled yesterday, Steve Jobs had introduced the very first Apple smartphone, which would forever change the world of mobile phones. The new iPhone features refinements of previous versions and a series of rather surprising innovations. Let's take a look at what sets the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max apart from previous versions. 

The A18 Pro chip

The new iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are equipped with the powerful A18 Pro chip, which offers exceptional performance for gaming and advanced photography, making games and apps smoother and more realistic. The titanium design of the smartphones allows for better heat dissipation and superior energy efficiency, with larger displays (6.3" for the Pro and 6.9" for the Pro Max), thin edges, and Super Retina XDR technology. Battery life has also improved, especially for the Pro Max model, which guarantees the longest battery life ever seen on an iPhone with up to 20% reduced consumption.  

Apple Intelligence, artificial intelligence comes to iPhones

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max integrate the Apple Intelligence system, a new artificial intelligence platform that provides personalized information to the user while still respecting privacy. The system understands the user's context and simplifies daily tasks through specific notifications or suggestions for messages and appointments, has the ability to correct and summarize texts, and can respond to more complex requests that Siri has not yet been able to handle. Privacy is managed by Private Cloud Compute, while some Apple Intelligence activities are conducted in collaboration with ChatGPT from OpenAI. From a creative standpoint, the possibilities are endless: now you can create personalized emojis, fun texts, and images thanks to the new Genmoji and Image Playground tools. 

The new camera lens of the iPhone

Also making its debut on iPhone is the Camera Control, a feature that allows quick and intuitive access to the camera system through pressure sensors and improved previews. The camera on both models can record 4K videos at 120 fps in Dolby Vision, boasts a 5x zoom, and a new 48MP ultra-wide angle lens. To ensure studio-quality audio, Apple has enhanced the device's microphones by adding advanced features such as Audio Mix for professional editing. 

The use of recycled materials to create iPhones

Pursuing the "Apple 2030" goal for carbon neutrality, Apple is committed to using the highest possible amount of recycled materials in its new products. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are made with over 25% recycled materials, 100% recycled aluminum for the internal structure, 100% recycled cobalt, and over 95% recycled lithium for the battery. The new models are mercury and PVC-free, and the packaging is made entirely from fiber-based materials. With the new launch, Apple is also investing in renewable energy projects, ensuring that its data centers, including those for Apple Intelligence, use 100% renewable energy.
