5 hotel pools to cool off in Paris this summer From historic institutions to modern aesthetics

Summer has finally arrived, bringing with it intense heat that makes even the most hyperactive person want to relax by a pool with a mojito in the right hand. The Paris Olympic Games have just ended, leaving behind a void in the capital that has been  bustling with activities and a festive atmosphere for weeks. The athletes have gone home, the tourists too, and the grumpy Parisians are preparing to make their big return to the city. But summer is far from over. Litters of iced teas are flowing, sunscreen is being handed out by the bucketload, and fans are fanning: August is here, and the desire to do nothing is now culturally accepted. That's why we're back today with a list of places in Paris to splash around in peace this summer to cool off at least for a dip (or more if you feel like it).

Hôtel Bristol

Perched on the 6th floor of the hotel located in the 8th arrondissement, the Bristol's pool offers a panoramic view of the city including the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and the Sacré Coeur. Decorated like a Mediterranean yacht, the place promises its visitors a relaxing break miles away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. As a haven of well-being, the hotel also includes a spa offering massages, body and facial treatments to enjoy alone or as a couple. For parents who want to relax guilt-free, a kids club is also open. The hotel is located at 112 Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

Hôtel Molitor - MGallery

Almost a decade old, the Molitor pool now ranks among the city's iconic monuments. Born in 1929, it was listed as a historical monument 60 years later, and today is still considered as a must-visit spot in the capital. The pool's popularity soared in 2014 when it transformed into a hotel with 124 rooms spread around the central pool. It features two pools designed by architect Lucien Pollet, heated year-round, but the most interesting part that draws crowds is its 48-meter outdoor pool. To access it, head to the Molitor Hotel, 13 rue Nungesser et Coli in the 16th arrondissement.

Hôtel Le Cheval Blanc

Recently acquired by the luxury giant LVMH, the hotel has been revamped by architects Peter Marino and Édouard François, and includes not only a pool considered one of the most beautiful in the capital but also a spa sponsored by Maison Dior. Stretching 30 meters long, it holds records for size for an indoor pool in the heart of the capital. The former Art Deco building is now decorated with trompe-l'oeil and incredible mosaics, offering visitors an almost magically immersive experience. An invitation to travel and daydream for the luckiest (and wealthiest) swimmers. It is located at 8 quai du Louvre, 1st arrondissement.

Hôtel OFF Paris Seine

In a completely different style, let's move on to a pool nestled in the heart of Paris' first floating hotel. Designed by nautical architect Gérard Ronzatti and built in Normandy, the hotel is located at Port d'Austerlitz, just a few meters from the eponymous bridge, and offers a unique experience, floating to the gentle rhythm of the Seine. The barge, though large enough to house 54 rooms and 4 suites, has the look of a light catamaran made of glass and steel. The pool is surrounded by a bar restaurant offering a wide selection of cocktails accompanied by refined tapas, all to be enjoyed with your feet in the water perched on a swan-shaped inflatable float.

Mob House

In the heart of a private garden of over 2000 square meters, the 20-meter-long pool is open weekly from 7 am to 9 pm until September 30th. As a small oasis of peace away from the city and its stress, it also includes a gym with cardio, weight training, and stretching areas for more athletic vacationers. The ideal place to take a dip after a yoga session. The MOB House also includes a restaurant offering traditional French brasserie dishes, perfect for regaining strength and resting with a full stomach. It is located in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, 70 Rue des Rosiers.
