The city finally seems to have regained its usual rhythm; however, the week is now coming to an end, and the weekend is on the horizon. Summer festivities and good weather have made a grand return to end our springtime suffering. It’s time to enjoy the mild temperatures and long days by venturing out of your cocoon. More than ever, the streets are buzzing with activities to suit all tastes. Discover now what the city has in store for you this weekend.

Where to eat: Chez Dumbo Marais

No longer needing an introduction, Dumbo is the undisputed reference for smash burgers in Paris. Dumbo has opened a new location in the Marais with a surprise in store! Since its first spot in Pigalle in 2019, the brand created by Charles Ganem and Samuel Nataf has won over Parisians, leading to the opening of a third shop on rue de Poitou. In addition to its classic smashed cheeseburgers and vegetarian version, this new location now offers nuggets, sold in portions of six for six euros. The added bonus? This location also allows you to dine in, a first for the chain.

To discover: The Yardland festival

Yardland returns for its second edition on July 6th and 7th to the Hippodrome de Paris – Vincennes. Initially scheduled for 2023, the first edition was canceled due to riots that erupted across France following the murder of Nahel Merzouk by a police officer. This festival, a true celebration of hip-hop and Afro-Caribbean cultures, offers a volcanic and eclectic lineup. Among this year’s headliners are renowned international artists such as Gunna and Rema, as well as emerging talents like Kay The Prodigy and H JeuneCrack. The lineup also includes performances by the Belgian rapper Shay, Kaaris, Amaarae, Ateyaba, and many more. Organized by the media outlet Yard in partnership with We Love Green, Yardland stands out for its commitment to inclusivity and representation of ethnic minorities in the festival space. In addition to concerts, the festival offers exhibitions, a food court with flavors from around the world, conferences, and workshops, transforming the event into a blueprint for a new cultural experience dedicated to popular cultures.

Where to have fun: Along the Canal de l’Ourcq with Été du Canal

Été du Canal returns for its 17th edition from July 6th to August 11th, bringing with it a wave of festivities along the canals of northeastern Paris. This year, the event is not just a festival of free or low-cost activities: it has an Olympic touch, flirting with the sites of the Olympic Games. On the agenda: cruises, dances animated by concerts and DJs, picnics, dance battles, and sports initiations. Culture enthusiasts can enjoy photographic trails, including the monumental work of Hugues Anhès, which will transform the facades along the Canal de l’Ourcq. A great opportunity to enjoy the banks and celebrate summer in Paris.
