This year MI AMI Festival celebrates an important birthday
100 artists, five stages
May 20th, 2024
The summer festival season officially kicks off with MI AMI Festival, celebrating its eighteenth edition with an expanded and novelty-rich program. Organized by Better Days under the direction of Stefano Bottura and Carlo Pastore, the festival will take place from May 24 to 26 at the Idroscalo of Milan at the Circolo Magnolia, with an exceptional opening night on May 23 at the Carroponte in Sesto San Giovanni. The festival will open with the historic band CCCP - Fedeli alla Linea performing for the first time on the MI AMI stage, kicking off four nights of music with a lineup that promises to be legendary. With over 100 artists spread across five stages – Palco Dr. Martens, Palco Champion, Palco Jack Daniel’s, Palco idealista, and Spider Arena – the festival aims to be a reference point for contemporary Italian and international music.
Among the headliners of the 2024 edition are prominent names like Colapesce e Dimartino, Ditonellapiaga, Chiello, Tamango, and Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Venerus, and many others. Each day of the festival will be enriched with unique and unforgettable performances, with a particularly international Sunday thanks to the presence of bands like Phoenix and Cumgirl8. «The music scene today is constantly evolving, and this year we have worked with the same care as a farmer observing the climate», says Carlo Pastore. «We are proud to be part of the creation of that soul food that has been our driving force for eighteen editions». This year's edition is not limited to music, also offering a vast Food area with over ten food trucks and the Chill & Fun area with activities such as tarot readings, sentimental advice, art exhibitions, and clothing customizations. One of the most anticipated new features is the Spider Arena, a stage entirely dedicated to electronic music and clubbing, curated by artists such as Thru Collected and Ceri Wax. «In an era of extreme polarization, MI AMI wants to be the third side of the coin, creating new meanings through the fusion of opposites», explained Stefano Bottura. «We are neither mainstream nor underground, we are a middle way that seems almost an impossible equation».
