5 things to do in Milan this weekend From 19 to 21 January

Milan in January is a challenging city to navigate, a cluster of gray streets often shrouded in a layer of fog that entices you to stay under the covers. Despite the weather this weekend, nss's weekly column with all the best events to discover in the Lombard capital is back to refresh your calendar, with markets and restaurants to try.

So, here are 5 things to do in Milan this weekend, from January 19th to 21st.

To Eat - Baratie

Baratie draws inspiration from worlds far apart. A welcoming place that combines the modernity of the cocktail bar with the tradition of the trattoria, it takes its name from the floating restaurant in the manga One Piece. It's not yet time to spend an evening on the restaurant's terrace, but taking refuge in the warmth near Baratie's counter to savor their dishes is an excellent alternative. Craft beers, natural wines, and distinctive cocktails accompany sweetbreads and porcini, fried octopus, and donkey skewers.

Via Stendhal, 49

To Chill – LOM Dopolavoro

"Shall we meet after work?" is the phrase that guides all evenings at Lom Dopolavoro, a venue located in an old farmhouse from the late 1800s where you can forget the day in good company. Open every day from 6:30 PM "until late!", at LOM, you can relax even without a warm summer evening, thanks to the suggestive setting and the selection of spirits and wines from sustainable sources.

Via Galileo Ferraris, 1

To Explore – Soggettiva Gallery

The first Italian exhibition space dedicated to alternative movie posters, this January Soggettiva Gallery hosts the exhibition "My Neighbor Miyazaki and the East". A tribute to master Hayao Miyazaki that retraces his Studio Ghibli projects, visiting the gallery after seeing his new release, The Boy and the Heron, is a special way to discover more about the author.

Via Pasquale Sottocorno, 5

To Shop – Mercatino Brera

Like every third Sunday of the month, until 6 PM, porcelain, antique objects, jewelry, and other hidden treasures await you in the Brera district, a famous market that welcomes more than sixty exhibitors from Via Fiori Chiari to Piazza del Carmine. Armed with heavy jackets, it's impossible not to succumb to the charm of a vintage goods stall, even at the cost of enduring the cold.

To Club - One Shot

This Saturday we dance, sweat, read some poetry and even take a look at some of the exhibits. One Shot and its 'concept clubbing' returns to ignite Santeria with a line-up ranging from okgiorgio to Mixtress. We look forward to seeing you there.
