As the Venice Film Festival kicked off last night, amidst red carpets and stunning looks, hundreds of photographers and a pigeon that decided to catch their eye, Jonathan Anderson announced that he will be curating a new exhibition at London's Offer Waterman, an installation that will also feature the urban birds so beloved of the Irish designer. Titled On Foot, this new project will bring together under one roof garments and objects related to the designer's work for Loewe and JW Anderson, including new reiterations of the now famous resin Pigeon Clutch Bag sported by Sarah Jessica Parker in the second season of And Just Like That....

Jonathan Anderson explained that «the exhibition will unfold like a walk through London, embracing the stark contrasts and unlikely juxtapositions that even a short journey through the city offers up.» Complementing the contemporary exhibition, works of modern British art will sit alongside works by artists such as Igshaan Adams, Frank Auerbach, Lynette Yiadom Boakye, Hans Coper, Shawanda Corbett, Sara Flynn, Lucian Freud, Barbara Hepworth, Akiko Hirai, David Hockney, and many others. Anthea Hamilton, the surrealist artist who designed the pigeon clutch bag that went viral on social media, will again collaborate with Jonathan Anderson on a limited edition collection of accessories, also inspired by the bird. The exhibition will open on 16 September, the same date as JW Anderson's show at London Fashion Week, and will be open to the public from 18 September to 28 October.
