5 things to do in Milan this weekend
From 21 to 23 July
July 21st, 2023
We have always cursed the office in the summer, but without that air conditioning blowing in our faces for eight consecutive hours, our electricity bill would be really hefty. To tackle this unbearable heat outside office hours, our faithful guide takes you around Milan (preferably in the shade).
Where to eat - Gelateria della Musica
At Gelateria della Musica, located in the San Cristoforo area, the flavor combinations are surprising and innovative, just like the notes of a well-orchestrated symphony. From classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate to more daring ones like wasabi pistachio or chili chocolate, you will surely find something that satisfies your palate. The long line outside the venue is a testament to its quality.
Via Lodovico il Moro, 3
What to see in Milan - Reversing the Eye
What do we see if we reverse our eyes? The exhibition offers a new perspective on Arte Povera, rarely associated with photographic and film media, inviting the viewer to "reverse their eyes" through a novel interpretation of the artistic movement, placing it in the social and political context of the 1960s and 1970s in Italy. The exhibition, with 250 works by 49 artists, reveals the richness of a period in which Italian artists were among the most important interpreters of visual language transformation.
Viale Emilio Alemagna, 6
Where to relax in Milan - Sagra di Memà
In the heart of the Nolo district in Milan, Osteria Memà has won the neighborhood over with its proposals of traditional Sicilian cuisine and a venue that is both refined and authentic. To celebrate the summer, they present a menu dedicated to the Summer Street Food Festival of Sicily, aiming to bring the communal atmosphere of summer evenings to Milan. You can enjoy Sicilian delights from lunch until aperitivo and dinner at the table or take them with you. An alternative take-away to organize a tranquil and romantic picnic or a tasting with friends at home or in the nearby Trotter Park.
Via Pietro Crespi, 14
Where to shop in Milan - Demaldé
New and antique jewelry, wrist cuffs: a small jewelry museum right in Brera. Particular is its extensive collection of wrist cuffs for all budgets: there are classic and witty ones, but also unusual themed ones (sports, hobbies, music, professions... ).
