Keep an eye on Cottweiler at Pitti Uomo The Designer Project of the 91° edition

This week Florence becomes the center of fashion on occasion of the 91° Pitti Uomo edition. One of the most relevant shows of the Florentine event is certaintly the launching of the capsule collection by Cottweiler X Reebok for the FW17 season. So, mark January 12 on your agenda, the day on which will take place the show at Museo Marino Marini.

If Reebok needs no introduction, maybe some of you are wondering: who Cottweiler is and why it is the Designer Project of this Pitti Uomo edition? So, let's step back and know Cottweiler better, the brand you will hear a lot about it shortly.  Founded by the duo Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty, Cottweiler is a British brand who combines fashion and sportswear. Considering the lastest trends, it appears nothing new, except that Cottweiler has being doing since it started. And it does it in the best way by using quality material, like high-quality tech fabrics and Merino wool, and caring in great detail the design of its garments, based on geometric silhouettes, minimal, clear lines, and a basic palette of cold, muffled colors. So, the strenght of the brand seems to be its ability combine the workability of sportswear (it's no coincidence that Cottrell is a runner) to sartorial quality, with special care for the trends of the moment, looking at a certain urban-futuristic mood

However, Cottweiler climbed the ladder of success on tiptoe, standing, until recently, a niche brand. Even if its strong underground attitude is one of its best features, for about a year Cottweiler has among its fans also some well-known names, like Skepta and Yung Lean. Not only that, the singer FKA Twigs asked Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty to design her wardrobe for her 2014 tour, and the brand appeared in the huge videoclip for Jamie XX's “Gosh” track. Not only artists, but also the audience noticed the potential of the duo. In fact, last July Cottweiler won the Woolmark Prize for menswear category, acclaimed by the jury for their ability to understand and interpret today's male fashion. And now Pitti Uomo, which chose this brand as one of the leading names of its schedule.

Cottweiler seems to have all the right stuffs to become the next “the hottest brand of 2017”. So, keep an eye on it, you will hear about it again.
