Once upon a time, in the '80s, before Alessandro Michele and even before Tom Ford, there was the Gucci family. Maurizio Gucci was the mean character of the dynasty and he was forced to sell the family company in 1988, before he took it over five years later.
In 1995 the Gucci family was shocked by another event, this time a crime. In fact, on March 27, Maurizio was shot by a mysterious man on board of a green Renault Clio. The businessman was seriously injured and right after he died in a hospital bed.
The story didn't end here. Some time later, Maurizio's ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani, was accused of hiring a man to kill her ex-husband as a revenge for breaking up with her. Patrizia was found guilty and sentenced to 26 years of prison.
The tragic story of the Gucci family seems a perfect script for a movie, and it will become one. In fact, Chinese director Wong Kar-Wai will bring the tangled affair on the big screens. The My Blueberry Nights and The Grandmaster's director hasn't made any statement about the movie, which will probably have Margot Robbie in the role of Patrizia Reggiani.
