Vetements' debut collection back on sale at the new Style.com

After the announcement of the appointment of Nina Nitsche (former Martin Margiela's right-hand person) as Collection Director of the brand, Vetements is back in the spotlight for a curious case of Amarcord. Demna Gvasalia’s brand will remake its debut collection, the FW14, exclusively for the launch of the new Style.com.

When the above-mentioned collection was presented for the first time, Vetements was still an underground project, without the budget to put on a show. The look book was shot inside what was then Demna’s Parisian apartment, but it was enough for this independent collective to make itself noticed in the industry. 

That’s why when Yasmin Sewell, Style.com’s fashion director, contacted the Gvasalia brothers to ask them to sell their brand on the new website – transformed into an e-commerce platform – Guram proposed to re-create a stock of the original collection, which didn’t get the visibility it deserved at the time.
