Artist and muse, protégé and mentor, friends, they may be far or close to each other, but always remain kindred souls.
The close and complex relationship between the visionary designer and the fashion journalist will become a film written by Gesha-Marie Bland and produced by Maven Pictures.
The Ripper, that’s the chosen title, will explore the eccentric couple's relationship began in 1992, when Blow remained fascinated by McQueen's talent after seeing his degree show at Central Saint Martins. Sensing his genius, she decided to buy the whole collection – named Jack the Ripper – for £ 5,000, paying £ 100 every week.
We still have scarce information about this new fashion drama, that comes after the BBC documentary McQueen and I released in 2011.
Stay tuned for more details.
