Petra Collins pays homage to Georgia O’Keeffe's work
In a new short film
July 19th, 2016
On the occasion of the opening of the retrospective dedicated to Georgia O’Keeffe’s work at the Tate Modern in London (of which we told you about here), Canadian photographer and it girl Petra Collins has gathered her muses – Lee Armoogam, Barbara Ferreira, Seashell Coker, Maia Ruth Lee e Ajani Russell – in a short film with dreamlike and surreal atmospheres, which pays homage to the American landscape painter’s visions.
O’Keeffe’s voice actually opens the video: extracts of an old interview resonate along with the delicate sound of water, while Collins’ stylistic feature untie. Suffused lights, fade-outs, feminist underwear and protagonists with ‘real’ bodies.
If Georgia and Petra had met, they would have liked each other for sure.
