Andreas Kronthaler's first campaign x Vivienne Westwood
'Buddhist Unisex'
July 14th, 2016
Last February Madame Viv announced she was going to give her husband’s name to her main line. Today, the first advertising campaign by Andreas Kronthaler x Vivienne Westwood is out.
Unisex Buddhist, that’s the name of the campaign, was shot at the Oriental Rug House in London and was inspired by the concept of East Meets West. "The inspiration for the campaign was completely guided by our Paris show collection" Kronthaler told i-D. "We started looking at lots of spiritual places - including temples - and one of the locations had this beautiful middle-eastern rug on the floor which gave me the idea. The location was the perfect backdrop on every level. The colours, the theme, this feeling of exotic luxury in a London warehouse".
The couple pose in the shots: Vivienne, bold and cutting-edge, wears a long cloak from the Gold Label line, a caramel chemisier and Victorian platform boots; Andreas wears instead a jacket adorned with gold details and abstract prints. The two hold each other’s hands, sign of unity and invincibility. The campaign also features shaved duo Tamy Glauser and Francesco, wearing tailored suits and portentous platform boots, and model Tiffany Johnson, wearing a maxi gown with polka dots and puffed sleeves matched with bicolor stockings.
