New York dedicates a street to Bill Cunningham
On the corner between Fifth Avenue and 57th street
July 7th, 2016
Bill Cunnigham was not only a great street style photographer. He was an emblem of New York, a constant presence on its streets.
That’s why, following a petition launched on Change.org which gathered more than 6100 signatures in one week, the city’s Mayor Bill de Blasio has decided to dedicate a corner to him, placed between Fifth Avenue and 57th street – exactly where Bill loved to park himself almost every day to observe the people passing by and take pictures of them.
At the moment the inscription is temporary but we are sure that, considering the strong impact the personality had on New York and its inhabitants, it will soon become permanent.
