Rave New World
Paul Hameline's new zine
June 21st, 2016
If you thought Paul Hameline only worked as a model, you were wrong. The 20-year-old Parisian and Vetements’ muse studied art in Lausanne, is a collage artist, has drawn prints for Anne Demeulemeester’s men’s collections, acted in Dennis Cooper’s Little Cattle Towards Glow and, not satisfied with all the magazines he appeared in since his debut in 2014, he decided to found his own.
Rave New World, his zine made in collaboration with his closest friends, premieres tomorrow night in Paris. Gosha Rubchinskiy, Willy Vanderperre, Collier Schorr, Pierre-Ange Carlotti, Mica Arganaraz and Lea Colombacal are only some of the talents who contributed to the first issue of this biannual volume, whose title winks at Aldous Huxley’s dystopian novel which carries (almost) the same name, Brave New World.
"Rave New World is my personal diary "written" by my friends, my surroundings, my world. I think that each person is born as a mass of clay and it's your life experience, friends etc. who molds you and helps your persona to evolve. I deeply know that each one of the contributors and the ones that will be present in the next issues are one of the reason why I am who I am today, and who I will be in the future" the author told i-D.
Paul will be signing copies of his first creature tomorrow night at The Broken Arm in Paris.
