Do you remember when we talked about the fact that, in the not-too-distant future, more and more musicians will undertake a carreer in the fashion industry, launching a clothing line, showing during Fashion Weeks, etc... ? Well, this time it's Tyler, The Creator who gives us another proof of that.
The American rapper and producer, who will be in Italy for two must-see shows in Milan and Rome on July – did you get the tickets already? – decided to take his clothing line, Golf Wang, to the next level, by showing his next collection with a real fashion show. The runway debut will be on the occasion of MADE in Los Angeles on June 10-11, and the event will also include the exclusive launch of the next Moschino by Jeremy Scott's collection.
The creative direction will have no radical changes: the collection for the runway will continue the winning mood which has marked the brand over the years, with its funny prints, coloured t-shirts and iconic hats.
But why did Tyler, The Creator make this decision? He explained it to Vogue.com: “I just figured, Why not? Why not do something different? Not everybody in the upper fashion world is wearing all-black Saint Laurent pieces and is super pretentious. I want to show them a different world”.
Who knows if in future we should start calling the rapper Tyler, The Fashion Creator.
