5 things you need to know about Willow Smith

I have always looked at Willow Smith, the youngest member of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith family, suspiciously. Then, I realized that I was just jealous. Because she, at the age of 15, is the badasses girl of the moment. 

While we all, at the age of 10, used to play with Barbie, Willow had already recorded a successful song - Whip My Hair - who launched her under the spotlight. And if I, at the age 15, used to think only about how to embellish my school diary, she has already released an album, taken part in some advertising campaigns of luxury brands and acted in two movies. What is more, she's also a teenager a bit out of line, who is interessed in women rights, not to mention that she is already a popular fashion icon. 

It's true, she won the lottery of life, being born in such a fortunate family, and being part of this emerging Generation Z who, as we have already seen, has a kick to it clearly. However, this girl is great, and when I heard that Willow would have been Chanel's new ambassador, I had to stop being jealous and accepted her talent.

So, I started doing some research, reading interviews she released with her brother Jaden, and here's what I have found out. There's no excuse, it's time for you to know Willow Smith, because you will hear about her much longer.

#1 First public performance. Her first public exhibition was in 2010 during the Ellen Show. Willow, who was just 10, sang her successful hit Whip My Hair.

#2 Passions. Japanese anime are one of her numerous passions (she loves Nana) and her favourite movie is James Cameron's Avatar ("Oh, my God, that's my life. I watch that movie and it hits me in places. I know that I lived it"). But she confesses she does not like 3D movies, they hurt her head. 

#3 She writes her own novels, that she loves to read (“There’re no novels that I like to read so I write my own novels, and then I read them again, and it’s the best thing”).

#4 Scandal. In 2014 Willow has been at the center of a scandal, because of a picture of her in bed with actor Moises Arias (you have seen him in Hannah Montana) that appeared on the Internet. Willow's parents immediately defended her saying they were only very good friends. 

#5 Too cool for school. Probably you already know this last thing, because the statements of the Smith brothers always break the Internet, but I better repeat it, just to be sure: Willow, like Jaden, doesn't go to normal school, but she prefers homeschooling. In fact, the two brothers think ordinary school is depressing, iillusory and doesn't help kids - “I went to school for one year. It was the best experience but the worst experience. The best experience because I was, like, “Oh, now I know why kids are so depressed.” But it was the worst experience because I was depressed” she confessed once.
