The new Nike Air Force 1 Ultra Flyknit
The lightest model ever
January 27th, 2016
The Air Force 1, one of Nike's most beloved and recognizable models, has its roots in basketball and has become over time a true legend of the sneaker culture, thanks to three important features: it's democratic, ambitious and iconic at the same time.
Nevertheless, the AF1 is very heavy compared to any running shoe from Nike, and for this reason Jonathan Johnson Griffin, Design Director of Nike Footwear, has set as his goal the creation of a shoe that had the same original silhouette but more comfort. From this premise the new Air Force 1 Ultra Flyknit was born, which, through the addition of technology Flyknit, retains its iconic silhouette adding lightness and comfort.
The features that make the AF1 the new expression of modernity and innovation in 2016 are definitely its multicolor look and its incredible lightness. The new Air Force 1 Ultra Flyknit includes characteristic elements of the original model, like the swoosh and the back label, while the eyelets area, for the first time, is built in the wavy shape allowing greater flexibility and a better fit inside the shoe.
The addition of the Flyknit technology has all the intention to launch the AF1 in the modern sport style’s innovation world, which debuts in multicolored version, in University Red for Nike Sportswear, and in a totally white version for NikeLab.
