Rick Owens model goes political

The news comes directly from the Parisian runways. During Rick Owens SS16 show, a model called Jera went out on the catwalk holding a piece of white fabric with the words “Kill Angela Merkel Not”. While the press present in the room thought it was a marketing strategy of the eclectic American designer, Owens declared the opposite backstage right after: “It was not my idea. He pulled it out and I punched him when he came off stage. He’s been my male muse for the past 12 years or something and I think he just felt comfortable enough to do something in a show and I’m furious.”

His idea or not, Rick Owens was able to be talked about once again after one of his shows, and not because of his clothes.
