Willow Smith is the new face of Marc Jacobs campaign along with Cher
Two generations - One campaign
June 5th, 2015
After Cher, here’s unveiled the second protagonist of Marc Jacobs fall/winter campaign, shot by David Sims with Katie Grand’s styling: Willow Smith.
The second-born of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith is not new to the fashion system: she and her brother Jaden design together a clothing line called MSFTSrep and the girl doesn’t pass unnoticed thanks to her outfits whenever she goes out in public with her family.
This is not the first time a fashion brand chooses one (in this case two) celebrity to embody the spirit of a collection instead of choosing the perfect face of a model. Just think about Italian brands Prada e Miu Miu, that often give space to very talented and famous actors in their campaigns .
Marc Jacobs stated: "Ever since our first Juergen Teller Ad in 1998 which featured Kim Gordon on stage wearing my dress, I have always preferred collaborating with the people who inspire me to give new life to the clothes we show on our runway".
This collection is inspired by Diana Vreeland, the iconic editor of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue who revolutionized the concept of style with her definitely unconventional beauty.
Jacob’s campaign is the umpteenth demonstration that fashion system is more and more interested in showing new and very peculiar faces. Is the 90s tendency which launched classic beauties like Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford officially over?
