Fashion and tradition in Poland

Expo 2015

Fashion and tradition in Poland Expo 2015
Poland loves its own traditions. It loves them very much. So why not to promote them? Why the world shouldn't understand and share them? Why not to propose a unique way of life?

(Come on, don't kid yourself: do you think of having already seen beautiful girls? Think about who you might know in Poland. Or better, think about the possible hangovers in Poland, with their famous vodka).

...But, talking about trends: what about Poland? Big question mark for everybody.

Even fashion, in this case, doesn't escape the aforementioned tradition: the designers often use traditional motifs, skillfully reinterpreted in a modern key. Polish design is full of decorations and it's characterized by a multiplicity of colors and unexpected details.

The Kurpie region, in particular, holds the distinction of the Polish fashion model: typical of the area are the iconic colorful roosters and floral patterns - usually inserted in a circular frame. Just as the handkerchiefs of Podhale mountain region, often used as a source of inspiration for clothes, shirts and socks.

An interesting and typically Polish aspect about the world of fashion are the runaways show, which have a double meaning here: they're international competitions of beauty and fashion shows at the same time. The girls who join the competitions also show on the catwalk the clothes of the most important designers - as Paprocki & Brzozowskie, MMC Studio Design and Joanna Klimas - and proudly present their roots.

To learn more about the tradition, the iconic motifs and the regions they come from, you must visit the Poland Pavilion at Expo 2015 during the Polish Tourism - from May 18 to 24 - and the site www.polonia.travel/it.
