Sankuanz FW14 Collection

For Opening Ceremony and GQ China, Sankuanz is the eastern brand to keep an eye on.

From a small studio on the island of Xiamen, Fujian province, the designer Shangguan Zhe began creating illustrations to print on t-shirts then sells in some friends' shops and, over time, his creations become a cult in China.

Its unisex, fun and quirky style blends together Asian and American culture, conflicting elements that thanks to the talent of Zhe make any collection appealing. A perfect example is the proposal for the upcoming winter. Designed in collaboration with local artist Chen Tianzhuo, it is a original, theatrical collection.

It's an homage to the cartoons, South Park, manga and pop culture. Each piece is an explosion of color, irreverent illustrations, aliens, eyeballs and fluorescent scorpions. It' s a mix'n match of motifs, influences, blazers and jackets are combined with skirts and wide trousers, western elements and Eastern forms. Sankuanz is a brand that knows how to attract attention to itself, remaining faithful to its madness.
