Burberry Prorsum Cruise Collection 2015
May 30th, 2014
Christopher Bailey finds old books at flea markets and transforms them into a sophisticated, romantic and, at the same time, seductive collection. The designer of Burberry is inspired by the illustrations contained in the pages of works such as "Winds & Showers", "The Orchard" or "Rain or Shine".
Those delicate watercolors become dip-dye silk dresses, safari jackets in cotton canvas with big pockets, pencil skirts decorated with fringes, silk petals, maxi sequins and, again, trench coat cinched at the waist. Bailey created a collection that fuses art and literature, but also cinema of the '30s and '40s with their beautiful and always fatal heroines day dressed with rigorous and military details and have elegant evening dresses with fringe. The touch of this English guy is delicate, poetic, but, despite the stated vintage references, contemporary and sensual.
