Golden Goose celebrates its most iconic sneaker, the Super-Star, with a new campaign featuring Jane Fonda. Actress, activist, and a symbol of reinvention, Fonda perfectly embodies the spirit of the model: authentic, bold, and timeless. From her film career to her role as a fitness and activism icon, her story is marked by the ability to transform, adapt, and remain relevant—qualities that are also reflected in the essence of the Super-Star. Launched in 2007, the Super-Star was the first sneaker to feature the iconic Golden Goose star. Its design is the result of a journey to Los Angeles, where the laid-back and lived-in aesthetic of Venice Beach streets inspired a shoe that combines the retro charm of 1970s derby shoes with the signature lived-in effect. The result is a sneaker that blends Italian craftsmanship with influences from skate culture, creating a distinctive identity that has evolved over time without losing its recognizability.
At the heart of the campaign is the video “Born to Be a Super-Star”, which tells a high-energy, adrenaline-filled story centered on those who dare to push their limits. Alongside Jane Fonda, the cast brings together personalities from diverse backgrounds, strengthening Golden Goose’s connection with cross-cultural communities: Keegan Palmer, Australian skateboarder and two-time Olympic medalist; Alessandro Ossola, Paralympic athlete and founder of the Inclusive Padel Tour; Joe Bastianich, internationally renowned restaurateur and entrepreneur; and Cristina Ehrlich, globally recognized stylist. Their presence is not incidental: each, through their story and journey, embodies the values of determination, creativity, and authenticity that the brand aims to celebrate. This campaign also marks the beginning of the celebrations for Golden Goose’s 25th anniversary, a milestone that highlights its journey between heritage and innovation.
