Scuderia Ferrari's new look

A tribute to motor racing history

Scuderia Ferrari's new look A tribute to motor racing history

The new Scuderia Ferrari uniform, unveiled to the public during the Grand Prix, is entirely inspired by one of the most revolutionary materials in the history of the sport: carbon fiber. Presented for the first time in the heart of the Monza racetrack, the collection offers a direct reference to the spirit of innovation that characterizes the Maranello team, while also paying homage to a material that has forever changed the world of Formula 1. As always, the protagonists of the campaign are drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, who with their strong personalities ignite the passion of Scuderia Ferrari's new total black look. In the Italian Grand Prix, Leclerc and Sainz will wear special versions of their Bell helmets, featuring visible carbon fiber parts among the historic colors of Ferrari and the city of Modena, red and yellow.

Every single element of the Ferrari sports kit has been redesigned according to the stylistic codes of carbon: the racing suits, signed by Puma, reflect the palette of the new dedicated uniform, the accessories and footwear (including caps and the now iconic Speedcat Pro) have been made in black and yellow, while the team's Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses have an exclusive new look. This Grand Prix, even Scuderia's red fans will be able to discover the charm of the new total black Ferrari, with a collection branded by Puma that is inspired by the team's new wardrobe. Additionally, on the occasion of the opening of the Milanese pop-up of Scuderia Ferrari from August 27 to September 2 in Via San Raffaele, it will be possible to purchase a replica of the Bell helmets - also available on the official website.

First produced in 1958 in the United States and later developed in the United Kingdom and Japan, carbon fiber has become a fundamental component of sports cars thanks to John Barnard. Scuderia Ferrari included carbon fiber in their aluminum chassis of the 126 C2 in 1982, and then introduced the first car built in Maranello with a carbon fiber monocoque the following year, in 1983. With technological progress and increasingly powerful computing tools, the use of the material in Formula 1 has grown exponentially. Carbon components have become lighter and stronger, thus they were chosen to replace first fiberglass for bodywork, then brake discs, impact protection structures, and finally even some engine parts. Today, almost every critical component of a Formula 1 car, from the steering wheel to the brake and accelerator pedals, is made of carbon fiber, which is why, since its arrival in the industry, it stands out as a revolutionary material capable of transforming the aerodynamic capabilities of cars. Beyond cars, carbon fiber has found space in many other items used in Formula 1: Bell, a current partner of Scuderia Ferrari, introduced the first racing helmet in the 1950s and produced the first helmet entirely in aramid and carbon fiber in 1991.

All the new items will be available for Ferrari fans and enthusiasts exclusively and in a limited edition at the e-store Ferrari.com and Ferrari boutiques. The flagship store in Milan will have a dedicated pop-up store in Via San Raffaele, from August 27 to September 2.
