NABA introduces Stitching Words
The Milan Fashion Design graduation show
July 3rd, 2024
On June 24, the Triennale di Milano hosted Stitching Words, the show of the final collections of the fashion design students from the Milan campus of NABA. The concept of the fashion show was defined by Nicoletta Morozzi, Fashion Design Advisor of the academy, and represents fashion as a continuously evolving language in relation to technological and societal innovations. NABA selected thirty graduates and 120 outfits for the show, an event that demonstrated how the third-year fashion design students were able to conceive collections that perfectly combine the tradition of craftsmanship with the novelty of artificial intelligence. «The students' outfits testify to the research and exploration of the connection between words, fabric, and the body. They were able to involve us in a unique experience of expressiveness that combined creativity, technique, and passion to create something truly original, in a language that becomes a means to communicate ideas and values, to express one’s identity and connect with others,» stated Colomba Leddi, Fashion Design Area Leader at NABA.
The Stitching Words fashion show took place in the characteristic spaces of the Triennale di Milano, directed by Paolo Bazzani with live musical accompaniment by the students of the CPM Music Institute. During the event, Darwin 20, the academy's annual magazine documenting the creations of the students from the Milan and Rome campuses, was also presented. The project, developed within the Fashion Styling and Communication program of the third year, was realized with the support of four exceptional mentors: Elisa Ambrosetti, Candela Pelizza, Riccardo Scaburri, and Lorenzo Seghezzi. On July 11, the show of the students from the NABA Rome campus will take place, continuing the journey through the language of fashion that began in Milan.
