PUMA releases two new colorways of the "Mostro" model
Definitely bolder than the previous ones
March 15th, 2024
One of the most unique and innovative sneaker models by PUMA, the Mostro, returns in two stunning colorways for SS24: Pink Delight and Ignite Blue. Originally introduced in 1999, the Mostro takes its name from the Italian word "mostro," describing the bold hybrid look of the sneakers that draws inspiration from two worlds: the sleek yet durable track spikes of the 1960s and the surfing shoes of the 1980s. Undoubtedly, it's one of the most distinctive sneakers in the PUMA archive. The low-profile model boasts distinctive details like the spiky sole and the strap closure on the forefoot. Introduced earlier this year in two colorways, Light Grey and Yellow, the experimental sneaker is now ready to be launched in two neon variants for its second drop, proving that the fusion of sports and fashion is far from over.
PUMA is rediscovering an important part of its heritage, demonstrating that a discipline like the sprint spike can have a lot to say, perhaps echoing what happened with blokecore. In doing so, it increases the German brand's focus on sports in general: a few months ago, the launch of the silhouette in collaboration with Coperni had intrigued with how PUMA would seek to offer its interpretation of dancewear, reaching out to new audiences and showcasing its historical archive.
