Circolo 1901 celebrates popular culture with Gino Pastore

Circolo 1901 was born fifteen years ago to narrate humanity through the personal style of extraordinary people. A clothing line that has turned the sweatsuit into a real trend, Circolo 1901 blends street style with the world of leisurewear in a language unique to its kind. With the project Circolo People, the brand continues to uphold its values by shining the spotlight on the lives of individuals who share its passions. For this reason, a new chapter of the project draws inspiration from the life of a visionary in Apulian song, Gino Pastore, the legendary singer-songwriter, founder of the first streetwear store, the first discotheque in Barletta, and author of the city's football team anthem. In the '60s, Pastore gave life to popular songs in the Barlettan dialect, and today his lyrics continue to be celebrated in all stadiums and corners of the region.

The figure of Gino Pastore plays a significant role in the history of Circolo 1901, which is why he occupies a central role in the brand's new chapter. The campaign explores the influence of the singer-songwriter on the football and popular culture of Barletta, passing through the places where his songs are still loudly sung, from the stadium stands to the dance hall he founded in the '70s. To pay homage to the artist's innovative spirit, Circolo 1901 has created a custom-tailored jacket with a large embroidery on the back that reads The Grandmaster. The military model, a silhouette reminiscent of the years when Pastore founded the band I Sudisti, also features a large colorful disco ball, a symbol of the clubbing culture in Barletta promoted by the singer at the time. The video and images depicting Gino Pastore's life focus on the city of Barletta, a land that, as Circolo 1901 tells us, holds immeasurable value for the brand, evoking a pronounced nostalgic sentiment. «Circolo is nostalgic by definition, loves everything with a story to tell,» says the brand. «That's why we always love to take a trip to the past, firmly believing that memories are the foundation of identity, whether it's a person, a people, or simply a clothing brand.»

The Circolo People project is now a cornerstone of the brand's history. «The first inklings of this project date back to 2008, from the imagination of our founder Gennaro Dargenio,» says the brand. He was the first to find inspiration in people's stories, drawing creative insights even from the most casual encounters. «We have always been guided by the principle that a brand is not just the sum of the garments it produces but a melting pot of values, passions, and beliefs that influence the customer in the final choice.» Humanity, simplicity, and unconventionality are decisive in Circolo 1901's artistic direction, values that have over the years contributed to creating a cohesive and stimulating community centered around a shared passion for the brand.
