Bottega for Bottegas returns for its third year
Bottega Veneta's initiative to support local artisans
December 6th, 2023
The history of Italian fashion partly originates in artisan workshops, in small ateliers hidden in every corner of the country. The artistic and manufacturing laboratories still present in the Bel Paese continue to represent the beating heart of tradition and artisanal excellence. Bottega Veneta, an internationally recognized maison for its commitment to supporting small businesses, has returned this December to pay homage to local artisans with Bottega for Bottegas, a project aimed at dedicating the brand's global visibility to master craftsmen. While the first edition of the initiative focused on Italy, involving workshops from every corner of the country, the second has traveled around the world, reaching workshops inspired by our culture.
For the third edition of Bottega for Bottegas, the maison has chosen four workshops based on their unique crafts. They embody the essence of creativity, employing unmatched skills to strengthen imagination and promote the importance of working together. Liu Wenhui is an expert in Chinese woodcraft, specializing in the research and creation of building blocks; Cheng Tsung Feng is a craftsman skilled in Taiwanese artistic traditions; Saul Modiano, who founded the Italian workshop bearing his name specializing in the production of playing cards back in 1868, and finally, Kitai Rhee, an expert craftsman in the creation of historical Korean kites. Starting this December, Bottega Veneta will transform its website, newsletter, and the windows of the flagship store in Milan into a space to celebrate these extraordinary workshops. The initiative not only emphasizes the maison's commitment to supporting artisanal tradition but also the desire to create global connections through the appreciation of craftsmanship.
