A few days ago, the H&M Group announced its plans to gradually reopen most of its stores in Ukraine. After temporarily closing its doors on February 24, 2022, the fashion retail giant has been working with local partners and authorities to ensure a safe and strategic reopening, scheduled to begin in November 2023. The decision to reopen is meant as a testament to the H&M Group's commitment not only to its business operations, but also to the country's communities : in addition to its previous donations aimed at helping communities in the country, the H&M Group is ready to partner with local organizations and relief initiatives on the ground but also to actively contribute to relief and reconstruction programs.
Without a doubt, the safety of all stakeholders remains paramount. The H&M Group has made it clear that the safety and well-being of its employees and customers will take priority when stores reopen. Strict measures and protocols will be implemented to ensure a safe shopping environment in line with global health standards. The idea behind the decision is surely to send a signal of resilience and solidarity.
