What went down at NABA's "Human Reload" show
An event that artistically represented the development of humanity
June 28th, 2023
NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts, today presented its event, "HUMAN RELOAD. NABA Fashion Show 2023 - Act One," which showcased the collections created by students of the Three-year BA in Fashion Design at the Milan campus. Held at the Argelati Bathing Center in Milan, the fashion show featured 120 carefully selected creations from 30 students, chosen by a jury of journalists, industry professionals, companies and NABA alumni. Each collection embodied the concept of "HUMAN RELOAD," defined by NABA Fashion Design Consultant Nicoletta Morozzi at the beginning of the academic year, which emphasizes the link between fashion and the evolving world, using clothes as a means to visually represent the development of humanity. «This performance, which takes place between two pools, shows how Fashion Design students from the same three-year course have developed their academic path and embraced the theme over the course of three years», said Colomba Leddi, Head of the Fashion Design Area at NABA.
The final fashion show presentation was born from the concept of "HUMAN RELOAD" and was orchestrated by Colomba Leddi, Head of NABA's Fashion Design Area, and Michele Corradini, Head of the Three-year Fashion Design Course in Milan. The show was directed by Paolo Bazzani, Artistic Director and lecturer at NABA. Inspired by the location of the event, the Argelati Bathing Center, the show transformed the two pools into an innovative backstage on one side and an evocative tableau vivant on the other. The performance involved a total of 120 models and dancers, selected through street casting, who represented the construction of a new humanity. Music for the event was provided by students from the CPM Music Institute, a prestigious music school in Milan. They specially composed and played live music that harmonized with the artistic direction of the show. As in previous years, the event was also streamed live on NABA's YouTube channel, allowing a wider audience to experience the show from a distance.
